Laziness Fantasies
You know that conversation we love to have? The one where you talk about what you would do if you won the lottery. As always, the longer that conversation goes on the better it feels. It feels so damn good to be lost in a world of fantasy escapism. The higher you climb comfortably into that lost thought, the more it hurts when you descend back to earth with a smack of reality.
I think athletes have a similar fantasy when it comes to training or eating. Or I should say, the lack thereof doing it. The crazy part about our fantasy is that it is actually accessible. And we do it ALL THE TIME. Lucky us, right? We dream how nice it would be only to actually do it and get abysmal return at best. Only to hate ourselves, forget about it, and some time later reload the dream sequence as if it never happened before.
I, for once and for all am trying my best to end this fantasy being a victor. I have done this over and over to no positive avail. It’s getting fucking old and I am tired of even being tempted by something that serves me no good. If you like me are a dreamer. You will have your helpful dreams, as well as your fair share of the opposite.
This fantasy of laziness has been with me longer than I think I would willingly admit. Repression and ignoring seems to be effective only up until a built-up tipping point. Let us remember some key points in this video each time we see this obstacle. Every single time.
Because the fantasy has no plan to going away anytime soon. You may as well put this chronic reminder in action.
